Lewis and Clark passed this island calling it "the Sepulchar Island". It was here that local pioneer named Victor Trevitt wished to be "buried among honorable men". Besides its historical relevance, the park offers a cool-down from the infamous summer heat. With temperatures climbing up to 110 degrees, the park lush botanicals provide much needed shade.
