Referred to by locals as “going ‘round the block”, this sixty mile ride begins and ends in West Yellowstone. Some years the ride goes north to south and in other years, it is just the reverse. No matter. You will still enjoy meeting new and old friends as you pass along the shores of three diverse and enticing lakes. Hebgen and ‘Quake lakes reward the rider with glimpses of the magnitude of a 7.9 earthquake that caused a mountain to fracture and fall in 1959. The Visitors Center at the Earthquake Memorial provides a welcomed feed station and rest area along with plenty of information of that fateful night. Henry’s Lake, nestled below Two Top and Sawtell Mountains allows glimpses of the Grand Tetons across its expanse and rolling terrain beside its blue waters. Don’t want to ride the whole 60 miles?
