Belton Chalet & Lodge Website belton@digisys.net Description: Located on the edge of Glacier National Park, just yards from the main west entrance, Belton Chalet and Lodge was the original Great Northern Railroad Chalet. Built in 1910, the same year the park was opened, Belton served as the primary jumping off spot for Park visitors coming by rail. Amtrak still stops here twice a day.Now, after nearly 2 years of extensive restoration, this historic registry property is once again the grand chalet of yesteryear welcoming you to Glacier Country. Sit back on the deck and enjoy the breath taking views of Apgar Lookout, hike miles of trails, fish, float the rapids, bird watch, or ride all day on horseback. In the winter, cross country ski on mile after mile of nearby groomed and natural trails. Then relax by the roaring fire in the beautiful chalet lobby, or eat lunch or dinner in the Belton Taproom featuring soup so thick you can eat it with a fork, sandwiches you’ll need two hands for, and a cup of steaming hot fresh brewed coffee or ice cold local microbrews.
