Description: 13th Annual Bitterroot Valley Bluegrass Festival is the best Bluegrass Music found anywhere in the state of Montana. A pickers festival! The event begins at 5:00 PM on Friday night and will end on Sunday evening with a raffle drawing for a C.F. Martin Model D-28 guitar. We are very proud to present the worldwide touring group "Fragment" from Czechoslovakia in their first Montana performance. Fragment is one of the top bluegrass groups in Europe and has performed at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville. Other featured groups this year will be from both coasts as well as the northern Rocky Mountain region. From the East Coast, the Sons of Ralph will present a varied program of original and standard bluegrass tunes. From California on the West Coast, True Blue and The Bertye Maddux Band will feature a variety of music. The northern Rocky Mountain region will bring Pinegrass and The Gravely Mountain Boys from Missoula, as well as LeftOver Biscuits from Big Fork. From the Bitterroot Valley, we are proud to present Mike and Tari Conroy from Conner, and Silcher and Skyrud as well as BitterSweet from Hamilton.Again this year, the Festival will present the very popular "Instrument Workshops" for banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins and upright bass on Saturday afternoon starting at 5:00PM. This is where the Festival attendees can bring their instruments, ask questions, and learn directly from the professionals. On Sunday morning, there will be a special gospel bluegrass set starting at 9:00 featuring The Gravely Mountain Boys. Also, located throughout the Festival grounds will be a variety of arts and crafts vendors as well as a great selection of various food vendors.There is dry (no electricity, water or sewer hookups) camping available for $8.00 per unit per day. The Fairgrounds has running water and restroom facilities. Due to Fairgrounds regulations, no alcohol, illegal drugs or dogs are allowed on the site. There are also dry camping spots in a designated area of the fairgrounds for those with animals. Camping sites will be available starting Wed. July 10th on first come, first served basis.
