Open all year, the extended hours during holidays and summers provides optimal opportunities to visit the gallery and enjoy the work of Montana artists. A visitor will be able to see framed paintings in oil, watercolor, mixed media and pastel; wood turned art; custom, handmade furniture; unique fused, molded glass sculpture and glass jewelry; ceramic pottery and sculpted large vases; as well as small gifts for any occasion.The Atlas building where the gallery is located is on the National Register of Historical Places. It is immediately recognized by it’s grand off-center arched entry of rough granite. The building derives it’s name from Atlas who is seen holding up the building and giving it his protection. The tow large salamanders that adorn the top facade of flames lend their mythical protection against fire.New artwork submitted by each artist is incorporated into new displays every month. A large inventory of work is kept in the gallery storage and may be viewed at any time upon request. In honor of the Bicentennial celebration of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, The Corps of Discovery, a special emphasis on geographical areas in Montana, which were significant stops of the Expedition have become the subject matter of several artists’ works. The large 1800 sq. ft. of gallery space affords one a lovely environment in which to absorb the finest of Montana produced original works of art.
