Description:
The JJJ Wilderness Ranch is a family owned and operated guest ranch around 100 miles south of Glacier National Park on the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains. The Barker family has shared this western tradition for over 2 decades to a limited number of guests each season. Located above the beautiful Sun River Canyon and Gibson Lake, the ‘Triple J’ specializes in family vacations emphasizing horseback riding, trout fishing and hiking.With over sixty head of mountain savvy quarter horses suited to all riding levels, there are unlimited riding opportunities, including trail and meadow riding. Horsemanship instruction begins the week with an optional overnight pack trip highlighting the end of your stay. Daily activities are planned with you allowing flexibility. Our Kiddie Wrangler can assist the children in horsemanship, explorative nature hikes, swimming in the heated pool and much more.Out of the saddle, you can enjoy fly fishing instruction at the ranch trout ponds, river or lake for fishing Rainbow, Cutthroat or Brown Trout. Guided interpretive tours, non-technical mountain climbing, endless hiking opportunities, and wildlife watching provide a blend of relaxation and excitement. Western cook-outs and evening campfires with authentic cowboy poetry and singing provide a relaxing end to a busy day at the JJJ.The ranch has six separate cabins that sleep from two to six nestled among the Aspen and Spruce. All meals are home cooked and served family-style in our lodge.Fully-oufitted horseback trips into the famous Bob Marshall Wilderness are also available. The ranch is available in the spring and fall for small group meetings or conferences. Providing an unlimited outdoor vacation experience is our goal!"

The ranch is 84 miles, a 2 hour drive from Great Falls, Montana. If flying into Montana, make sure to check out arriving in one week and departing in the next. This will often save you a lot of money. For example, you can fly in on Saturday and stay at a hotel. (The Best Western Heritage Inn at 800-548-0361 offers our guests a good rate, and they have a shuttle service for airport pick-up or to see the local sites.) We will pick you up on Sunday. Your departure flight can be for the following Saturday. Delta and Northwest are the major airlines into Great International Airport. In the west, Big Sky and Horizon Airlines also service Great Falls.

Also, the JJJ can provide free transportation to and from Great Falls International Airport as per the following schedule only: Arrival: The JJJ van will pick up guests at the Great Falls International Airport between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m on Sundays, or the day before your packtrip. Please call to arrange a pick up time. Departure: The JJJ van will leave the Ranch at 8 a.m. on Saturdays or the day after your packtrip, arriving in Great Falls at approximately 10 a.m.. Please make flight arrivals before 3 p.m. and departures after 10 a.m. If your itinerary must fall outside of this schedule, you can arrange to stay in one of Great Falls’ many motels the night prior to your stay. Contact us for discount rates. Any airport transfers outside of the outlined schedule will be a $150 additional charge. Rental cars are also available.
