BigSkyMontana.us BigSkyMontana.us Description: This event is an annual rifle contest consisting of muzzle loading rifle, and cartridge rifles of the period 1860 thru 1900 using either smokeless or black powder loads. The contest consists of steel silhouettes targets from 100 to 800 yards. Period clothing is encouraged but not mandatory. The shoot is to encourage shooting sports in general and period blackpowder shooting specifically, while displaying weapons, clothing, and lifestyles of the time period 1840 thru 1900 on the high plains. Camping is available at Medicine Rocks State Park, adjacent to the shooting range. Short order meals will be available during the shoot.
