Description: Montana Pines Hideaway (formerly Wapiti Resort and Elkhorn Motel & Cafe) is much more than a wilderness resort, located on 30 acres, in a unique mountain valley on the shore of Seeley Lake. It is a year 'round playground where you can do everything or enjoy doing absolutely nothing. The resort has operated from the same location for over forty years, but has undergone major renovations and changes in the past ten years, with many new additions planned for the future. The Elkhorn restaurant is owned by Montana Pines Hideaway and leased out. It has a great breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu.The Golden Garter Saloon is the largest building on the property, with the ability to handle up to 250 people for private functions. It is two stories high and boasts a unique interior design with food and entertainment facilities on the first floor and a large mezzanine upstairs that looks down over the lower level. The Saloon has an all beverage liquor license and we can also cater events off of the property. Weddings are a special occasion for all concerned. The Church houses a beautiful altar that was created by hand and imported from Milan, Italy around the turn of the century. Ceremonies may be conducted in the charismatic church or in the outdoor setting of Old Town’s Main Street. The Saloon is perfect for receptions and private parties.Another unique area for get togethers is Camp 9 (the last working logging camp operated by the Anaconda Mining Company). In 1989 portions of old Camp 9 were moved to the location at Montana Pines Hideaway with the old cookshack being the main area. Camp 9 has a kitchen and outside cooking area. The mess hall features two long tables that were made from bowling alleys and can easily seat 50 plus people. This has been a popular rental by family reunions who enjoy preparing their own meals and a great gathering place for playing games, doing crafts or just getting out of the weather. The bunkhouse is attached to Camp 9.The grounds offer enjoyment for everyone whether it be to play horseshoes, sit by the campfires, play a football game, or watch the children enjoy the playground area on the slide and swings. Our spacious RV park offers full hook-ups, privacy, and access to all resort facilities.The most popular sport in the area is snowmobiling and a great way to explore the area. With over 300 miles of well-groomed trails to choose from, there is sure to be something for every rider. In addition to the snowmobile trails is the Nordic Ski Trails. This system offers 18 kilometers of the West's best cross-country skiing. You can access both trail systems from your cabin or motel door.Whether you are planning a wedding, reception, anniversary, family reunion, executive seminar or other activity - the possibilities are limited only by one's own imagination.
