The solace and peacefulness of the delightfully landscaped grounds surrounding the fishing lodge, will entice you towards relaxation. The lodge is located near Darby but not far from Hamilton in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.
Nestled in the pines along the bitterroot River, the Lodge is situated on 40 of the most picturesque acres in western Montana, including one half mile of river frontage boasting some of the best fishing spots for cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout imaginable. Just steps away from the front porch of your cabin is a large pond fed by the waters of Lake Como. A great place to practice your fly casting, or for taking the canoe or paddleboat for a moonlight cruise. A path around the pond leads you to the cascading waterfall overlooking the river. The cabin has a mini-kitchen with a microwave, satellite television and VCR, A/C and a gas log fireplace. In the bathroom you will find a walk-in shower, a whirlpool soaking tub, and deluxe bath robes. A half bath in the loft bedroom is unique, with a sink placed in a tree stump. A gas fired barbecue, and picnic table located under the trees by the pond are available for your private use. Cabin is for non-smoking adults and children over 13. Ideal for two, but can accommodate four with the sleeper sofa.
If you like horseback riding, we can arrange to have horses at your front porch for a fabulous ride in the Bitterroot Mountains. If you're a novice fisherman or would just like to see more of the river, we can have an outfitter pick you up at your doorstep. Spend an afternoon at Lake Como just four miles away or golf, hiking, bicycling are nearby.
Don't forget about us in the winter. We're located just 30 minutes from Lost Trail Powder Mountain, where the average snowfall is 300 plus inches and offers fantastic powder skiing. It has 3 chairs and 3 tows with a vertical drop of 1,200 ft. There are 38 trails and 23 well-groomed runs and best of all, no crowds.
If you want to do some cross country skiing or snow shoeing there are cross-country ski trails at the Chief Joseph Ski Course, again just 30 minutes away. Trails range from 3 to 8 miles long and wind through some of the prettiest mountain terrain the country has to offer for winter sports.
