You will find a tremendous variety of outdoor recreational opportunities ranging from lake fishing to river canoeing, from swimming to picnicking, and from hiking to hunting. The numerous resources make outdoor enjoyment possible for people of all ages and interests. Other activities, such as mushrooming, birdwatching, nutgathering, water skiing, horseback riding, and pack-in camping are also available. Wildlife and natural areas are sites created for outdoor recreation that are compatible with the natural surroundings with minimum facilities. Some of these areas may be open to hunting while others were established to protect rare and endangered species of plants and animals. Preserves are unique areas of native flora and fauna where human influence is kept to a minimum.
