Description: The Hanover House, a recognized Three Diamond AAA Inn, provides a great value for guests with the charm of a country home and the convenience of a village inn. We are a five minute walk to town, 10 minutes to the ferry and within a few minutes to all the necessary transportation on the island.
The Hanover House's individually decorated, and well maintained rooms, provide a warm and comfortable place to start and end your day. Each room offers luxurious bedding, towels, spa quality robes, a private bath, air conditioning (heat in the winter), iron and ironing board, hair dryer, personal care amenities, cable TV, telephone and wireless internet access. Each morning we offer a substantial breakfast that includes special homemade waffles, egg dishes, potatoes, and standard continental items. On a first come first serve basis, we also provide bicycles.
The grounds provide a secluded feeling, even though the Inn is just a short walk from town. Before the day begins, enjoy our expanded continental breakfast sitting on our porch, at one of the outdoor garden tables, or one of the decks shared by the guests. When you are done, take advantage of the Hanover House's location to enjoy all the Island's activities in Vineyard Haven, and the other Island Towns: tours, biking paths, shopping, theater, restaurants, library, historical sites and museums, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, fishing, tennis, golf and horseback riding facilities.
The Hanover House is owned and operated by Steve Perlman, a retired academic and business man. As the son of an academic, Steve grew up spending his summers on the Vineyard. Since that time, the Island has remained a constant "home" in his life. Martha's Vineyard was even the backdrop for his doctoral research. Steve hopes a stay at the Hanover House Inn will become an integral part of your personal attachment to Martha's Vineyard.
