Description: This Foundation was established to preserve the heritage of the timber industry and to inform and educate the public on natural resource issues. The Foundation uses the Camp for the Deaf and Blind to provide hands-on experience and educational opportunities for all ages and physical abilities. The camp is located on the original site of the historic logging community of Seeley Lake. The restored buildings include: marshall’s office, territorial land office, schoolhouse with teacherage, freight depot with leather shop, church, livery stable, Saloon, blacksmith shop and hospital as well as Camp 9 (the last working logging camp of the Anaconda Company) All the buildings are furnished with period antiques and artifacts to take you back in time to the 1920’s and 1930’s.Enjoy a tour of the museum facilities as well as a walking nature tour. Refreshments are available at the Saloon and the on site cafe. Large expanse of green area invites you to enjoy a game of volley ball or horseshoes, after which you can stroll down to the lake and go for a canoe ride along the lake to enjoy the scenery and wildlife.
