Christmas Stroll Website director@mainstreetbutte.org BigSkyMontana.us BigSkyMontana.us Description: The annual Uptown Christmas Stroll is a free event uptown in Butte to kick-off the Holiday shopping season. The event features a parade with high school and college marching bands, the arrival of Santa Claus, hayrides in horse drawn carriages, art & craft exhibit (indoors), music on the street and in the fabulous Motherlode Theater and a petting zoo. The stroll takes place in the center of the uptown business district, including the county courthouse, antique stores, bars, casino’s and restaurants.A model railroad layout reminiscent of Lionel Toy Trains window displays that graced Main street department store windows for more than 75 years will be on display to delight kids of all ages - some Lionel model trains on display, and running, are more than 80 years old. Area model railroaders and model builders are encouraged to participate in the construction of layout benches and run their own toy trains through Christmas Eve.
