Description: Situated three short blocks from the village center, near the historic Vineyard Museum, the Edgartown Yacht Club, and the picturesque waterfront, Summer House is set back from the road in a quiet, peaceful setting. Built around 1850 in the style of a New England farmhouse and originally a carriage house, it was moved from its “up island” location in Chilmark to Edgartown in the late 1800’s.
Today it offers guests the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind after a busy day of exploring the island. Whether you choose the rocking chairs and cool breezes of the front porch, the café ambiance of the brick terrace, the tranquility of the spacious yard and shade trees, or the refreshing spray of the (hot water) outdoor shower, you’re sure to agree that this “secluded hideaway” is “the best kept secret on the island.”
