Description:
Bradys NESW is a lovingly restored Victorian house that has been in the family since 1929. Just 500 feet from Nantucket Sound, it is perfectly situated for a quick morning dip, and just a walk from a long sandy beach.
Throughout, the decor has been kept simple, a gentle blend of Northeast charm and a subtle Southwest influence. The old-Vineyard flavor of the house has been preserved in the bedrooms' wood-slat walls, painted crisp white, and roof line angles that add personality (without sacrificing headroom). White-painted country furnishings and lace-edged or gauzy white curtains are accented by fine linens and comforters in colors keyed to framed Santa Fe and Remington posters that hang in each room. Currently, Bradys is also the sole exhibitor of paintings by award-winning East Coast artist, Dawn Hotaling.
Two of the bedrooms open onto small balconies, great for enjoying private breakfasts or perhaps pre dinner wine picked up from the islands vineyard on your travels.
The outdoor Southwestern-style "Ramada" shower (possibly the only one on the East Coast) - wonderfully refreshing after a day at one of the island's superb beaches or on a moonlit night.
Breakfast is ready as early as you are - you're welcome to join me in a walk by the beach to catch the sunrise, as I do each day. Awake to the smell of gourmet coffee brewing each morning. Sit down to a selection of English teas, fresh fruit, and a unique fruit nectar - either in the dining room or on the sunny wraparound porch.
Bradys is within easy walking distance of Oak Bluffs shops and restaurants, the ferry, tennis courts, and bike and car rentals. Golf is also available nearby. For indoor, quiet-time relaxation, the inn offers a living room with fireplace, cable TV, an extensive video library, and plenty of books. On request, 'Himself' will gladly play selections from his wide-ranging CD collection of jazz, show tunes, folk, classic and much more.

Directions and/or Additional Information:
From the ferry dock at Oak Bluffs, walk or drive down Sea View Ave. (toward Edgartown). Pass Ocean Park (ocean on your left and park and side streets on your right). Continue past the next park called Waban Park. The first street past Waban Park is Canconicus Ave. Turn right and no. 10 is the second house on the left. This is about a 10 minute walk from the ferry dock or about 3/4 of a mile. |
