Nez Perce County Historical Society and Museum Lewiston, Idaho Location:    306 3rd Street Lewiston, ID 83501 (208) 743-2535 This web page has had 3868 unique visitors. Description: The Nez Perce Historical Society and Museum purchased a Victorian era cottage for their home. In 1978, the Museum and offices of the Society moved into the present building at 0306 Third Street in Lewiston. The society maintains a research library of Nez Perce County history, preserves artifacts and works with the public to provide education. The Museum's board of directors and staff are now preparing for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial celebration that will begin January 18, 2003 in Monticello, Virginia. Renovating the lobby and installing new exhibits are examples of their preparation. The back galleries will be renovated as time and funding permit. On the side and back of the museum building, murals are painted depicting the history of the Lewiston-Clarkston valley and Lewis and Clark Expedition's visit there.
