COURTESY OF WASHINGTON STATE PARKS Description: Located in the Chief Timothy State Park, the Alpowai Interpretive Center marks the Alpowai encampment of the Nez Perce Indian Tribe. The exhibits mark the Nez Perce history, including their meeting with the Corps. of Discovery. Center's location marks the original site of a village that existed around 1850.
