"Just a few words about Pangaea.
If you have never floated "the gorge," Pangaea is a small company who is entirely professional, in terms of equiptment, guides, and water safety. They also understand working very hard to tailor your trip to meet your needs and expectations. I have floated with Pangaea several times, but, August 8, 2006 was the first Alberton Gorge trip with David and Brook, the new owners. My son and daughter, and two grandkids floated. David and Brook are incredible with kids. We had so much fun! They prepared a wonderful lunch. We landed at a shaded beach for baked baby reds, with ranch dressing with sun dried tomatoes, peppers, bacon and cheese, with a great salad. Their homemade brownies were still warm out of the oven and so good on the banks of the river! Nothing has ever tasted better in our whole lives!!
The gorge is spectacularly beautiful. If you want to see a Western Montana river, with scenery just like it was when Lewis and Clark came through, a gorge trip with Pangaea is an incredibly fun way to do it!
At every whitewater section we all got wet, team-paddling like crazy, and laughing like school kids! The kids would be safe, too, with Pangaea, and would have an adventure of a life-time.
On one of my earlier trips on the Gorge, at one turn of the river, there was a very small brand new baby black bear at river's edge drinking. It was sooooo cute. We knew better than to approach it, mother had to be very near.
We saw bald eagles, osprey fishing, and numerous other birds. The fish were jumping and some of us wished we had brought poles.

On the Clark Fork River we enjoy the longest boating season and the most consistent whitewater than any other river in the Northwest! We have whitewater through September every year!

The theoretical ancient super-continent that was one land mass formed by all of t today's major landmasses. Evidence suggests that it began splitting up about 200 million years ago.
