Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park Website Description: Perhaps the most popular state park in Montana. The Lewis and Clark caverns have some of the most stunning limestone formations (stalactites,columns, helicitites, etc.) in the country. Contrary to many beliefs, the Lewis and Clark expedition DID NOT find this cavern. It is located near many of their exploratory activities on the Jefferson River. The cavern offers a two mile hiking trail through the caverns. Also provided is a visitor center, an amphitheater, picnic and camping areas. Highly recommended by previous visitors. A easy stop off of Interstate 90. Day use fees are $4-$6 per car. Taking the tour will cost approximately $8.
