Favell Museum Website Description: Favell Museum collection is considered to be one of the three best Western Museums in the United States. The collection is three-part. One is the collection of Indian Artifacts mostly from the West. This consists of over 30,000 arrowhead, knives. Stonework, over 475 baskets, 190 pieces of pottery, 160 pieces of bead and quillwork. The contemporary western art collection is one of the finest anywhere in the US. There are 852 paintings by 435 artists. The collection also has bronzes, sculptures, carvings and dioramas. The third part of the collection is the largest miniature gun collection on public view in the world. This museum brings people from all parts of the world and the US. The building itself is a work of art and consists of over 300 tons of local volcanic rock. Some of the walls have artifacts in them. This is a must see. The museum also has a gift shop, Print gallery and art gallery. Plan to spend several hours. Directions and/or Additional Information: From North 97 take 97B. Turn right on Esplanade follow for about a half a mile. Stay right on Main, follow Main for about a mile heading Southwest. Upon crossing the river and passing under the 97 bridge, the museum should appear on the right.
